Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

We are located in the town of La Manzanilla, Jalisco, on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. La Manzanilla is a small but rapidly growing community consisting of approximately 1500 Mexican residents and a large foreign population who spend the winters here or come as tourists.

Can I become a member of your organization?

Please contact us to receive our quarterly newsletters.  You can also get involved by volunteering in our educational programs in La Manzanilla or becoming a program sponsor.

Does your foundation give grants?

Technically, we are an Operating Foundation whose primary purpose is to operate educational programs determined by our board of directors and the needs of the community. The foundation does award funds to the public schools of the Costa Alegre region and occasional grants awarded to teachers for specific projects, but the majority of the foundation’s funds are used to continue its own programs.

Where do you receive your funding sources?

We receive approximately 75% of our funds through individual donors and 25% of our funds through local fundraising events.

How much money do you contribute annually to La Manzanilla schools?

LCEF has donated over 400,000 pesos to La Manzanilla schools and students since 2004.  Please view the following table for further information.
