La Catalina Educational Foundation’s
University of Londres Scholarship
La Catalina foundation is proud to announce the launching of the University of Londres Scholarship. In our continued effort to improve the educational oppurtunities for the youth of the Costalgre region, we have joined together with the University of Londres in Mexico City to offer a complete scholarship valued at 150, 000 pesos.
Rationale Behind Scholarship:
- Many students in the Costalegre region lack the economic resources to study
- Upwards of 50 percent of students do not attend university, but turn to unskilled work positions
- Lack of finicial aid available in the Costalegre Region
Selection Process:
Students applying for the scholarship will be required to submit an application package for review by La Catalina Educational Foundation, where eligible students can demostrate that they meet the following criteria:
- Graduating from a school in the Costalegre Region:
- Middle School
- High School
- Technical School
- University
- A Minimum of 8.0 G.P.A
- Excellence in Arts, Writing and Critical Thinking
- Recommendation from current school
- Desire to help with community improvement projects
The scholarship recipient will be announced at their graduation ceremony at the beginning of July
Scholarship Details:
The University of Londres Scholarship provides:
- Complete tuition fees for a complete high school education, a 4 year bachelor's program, a techinical career, or a Masters Program at any one of the University of Londres's Campuses in Mexico.
- Job oppurtunities at the University's campus
- Academic support and mentorship
- Involvement in community betterment projects with La Catalina Educational Foundation
- Excellence in Arts, Writing and Critical Thinking
The University of Londres Scholarship does not provide* :
- Accommodation expenses
- Travel Expenses
- Food Expenses
- Book Expenses
(* the job opportunity will allow for the student to cover part of these expenses)
Scholarship Rules:
In order to provide incentive to the scholarship winner and make sure they take full advantage of the scholarship, the winner must abide by the following rules:
- Maintain a 8.0 average
- Take no more than one semester off in an academic year
- Fulfill 40 hours of community service for La Catalina Educational Foundation in a year.
